Friends of Five Points members are represented by their Street Captains. The role of the street captain is to
- hand-deliver quarterly newsletters to the member households in their area, and
- be aware of any issues affecting the residents on their streets and bring them to the attention of the board if any action is required or requested.
There are currently many streets in Five Points without street captains. In order to reach out to these under-represented streets, FOFP is seeking “foster” street captains who would be willing to represent a street near them in order to inspire households to join and eventually select their own street captain.
The FOFP Street Captains do not have regular meetings; however the Street Captains met as a group in January 2007 and decided to try to meet annually.
