From Paige Cummings:

History is such a wonderful thing, and the memories of our Five Point’s history lies in the hearts of those who lived here when Five Points was first being developed. For several years, the Five Points community was fortunate to have the late Charlie Rowland serving as our neighborhood historian. He was born here, lived here, died here, and was full of great stories about growing up in Five Points. For several years, Charlie was our historical guest columnist for the Friends of Five Points Newsletter.  Did you know that the big building at Memorial Park was originally built as a Tuberculosis Sanitarium?  Charlie did.  Please enjoy!
